    Hi Steven,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Could you try this approach instead?

    1. Create four rows.
    2. In each row, drag in a column, then delete the second column.
    3. Inside the column, drag in a row, then delete the second row.
    4. Set the background image in the row.
    5. Add your content (e.g., text, icons) inside the column.
    6. Apply the Slide and Hover effects to the column.
    7. Add the link to the row.

I've demonstrated this in the following screencast: https://youtu.be/u5uXoq9vw9M

I also tested this on this link: https://testbrizy01.brizy.site/

Please give it a try and let me know how it works for you.

    Best regards,
    Ariel H.

    Hi Ariel,

Thank you for all your work on this solution! I just wish I knew more about the source of the problem so I could better understand your approach.

It seems that an anchor link and an animation effect can’t be applied to a column simultaneously. If I remove the link, the grow effect works as expected on my columns/rows. Since this was the case, I had to nest another column/row—applying the link to the nested column and the effect to the parent column. This feels like a bug. Is it intended to function this way?

Also, could you clarify the difference between Brizy columns and rows and how they compare to divs in traditional web design?

    Thanks again!

    Best,
    Steven Orlosky

    Hi Steven,

    Thank you for the update.

The issue you’re seeing happens because applying both an anchor link and an animation effect to a column can cause conflicts—since the link wraps the entire column, it can interfere with how the animation triggers. Nesting a column, is a workaround. While it might feel like a bug, it’s more of a technical limitation.

As for Brizy’s structure, rows act as containers that hold columns, helping with layout organization. In traditional web design, both are essentially <div> elements, but Brizy simplifies their management with a drag-and-drop interface.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

    Best Regards,
    Ariel H.
