Make (decimal and) thousands separators changeable in counter

There is no worldwide norm which character you should use to separate decimals or thousands in numbers. You can find commas, points, and spaces (and some other characters). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal_separator

Please implement the possibility to use the counter with different separators. Or at least to switch off separators.

With numbers higher than 1000 the counter is useless in some countries - i.e. in Germany 2,000 (two) is different from 2.000 (two thousand).
