Posts pagination
Hello,
The posts widget that we have put on the pages allows users / bots to go to a page structure like:
https://example.com/page/category/bpage/11/testbetweenpage/bpage/12/
eventhough there is only 1 Posts widget on the page. this makes it so that we get spammed by bots and users alike.
This loop in pages can be made indefinite. Like: https://example.com/page/category/bpage/11/testbetweenpage/bpage/2/testbetweenpage/bpage/18/testbetweenpage/bpage/17/testbetweenpage/bpage/4/testbetweenpage/bpage/5/
I would expect users to go to a 404 if i go to a url like
https://example.com/page/category/bpage/11/Randomtextinsertedhere
But that is not the case. it shows the page and then lets the user continue.
Is there anything i can do to fix this?

Hi,
Thank you for contacting us. Please try the following steps and see if they help address the issue:
1. Ensure that your Home and Site URL use HTTPS if you have enabled SSL.

2. After checking the Home and Site URL, also flush or reset the Permalinks and see if this helps:

Hello Ariel,
Thank you for replying. I've checked both URL's and refreshed the permalinks.
After refreshing I still get the same structural issue.
I've checked one of your showcase sites on the brizy.io/showcase.
They have the same issue. /zitierstile/bpage/2/test/bpage/3/In this you can keep adding test/bpage/3/ to the end.
or even:
/zitierstile/bpage/2/test/bpage/3/test/test/myrandomtext/The reason we saw this is because we had a link error in our post. adding "/mail%20toexample@example.com" to the URL. but it should have been a link to open the email (missing the ':' ).
The Google and Facebook bots boths picked up on this and now are trapped in a loop of finding all weird combinations of URLS. This is a massive hit on the traffic.
I've fixed the link and also set a no follow rule now. But that still leaves the pagination accepting anything behind the pagination. Is there anything I'm missing that could change this behaviour? For now I block all ip's that hit urls containing /*/bpage/*/bpage/*/bpage/*/

Hi,
Thank you for the update.
Could you please also try flushing LiteSpeed Cache and see if this makes any difference? Also, try to purge all CDN Cache by logging into your QUIC.cloud Dashboard - https://docs.quic.cloud/troubleshooting/purgecdn/

Hello Ariel,
The site we are having issues with is: https://www.despartaan.nl/
It doesn't have a litespeed cache or QUIC.cloud.It doesn't have any caching as is.
