Hi Alexander,
Thank you for contacting us.
At the moment, there isn't an option to edit custom attributes for icons in Brizy. However, this feature has been requested by another user and has been submitted as a potential improvement. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Caitlin,
I sincerely apologize for the lack of progress on this request. While it’s still in our feature request queue, there haven't been any updates on its implementation.
To increase the chances of this feature being prioritized, I recommend submitting it on our Ideas & Roadmap page at https://www.brizy.io/ideas-and-roadmap. This will allow other users to vote on it, helping our team gauge the demand for this feature.

Thanks, Ariel. I submitted it. Is there a workaround you recommend? I've been searching and trying different ways but can't get our accessibility scores up because of these icons.

Hi Caitlin,
Thank you for the update.
While there isn't a dedicated plugin for this, you might be able to achieve it using accessibility-focused plugins like Accessibility by UserWay or WP Accessibility Helper, which provide tools for improving accessibility across WordPress. Alternatively, you could manually add aria-label attributes using custom code or JavaScript.

Hi there,
same problem here. i love brizy, but the missing aria-label makes a lot of problems. Until the aria-labels are available, it would be very helpful if you could give us precise instructions on exactly where I need to change the PHP coding. Unfortunately, your link doesn't make this clear for Brizy pages.
Brizy also advertises, that you don't need to know how to program.
Best regards,
Marc

Hi Marc,
Thank you for contacting us. We understand how frustrating this issue can be, and we appreciate your patience.
Unfortunately, we don’t have specific instructions for modifying the PHP code to add aria-labels. Our support is focused on assisting with existing features, providing custom coding solutions is beyond our scope. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hey all. I've been trying to fix this issue on my website for a couple days now. This is the last portion of accessibility I need to make the site compliant and I have not found a workaround. I love Brizy for certain (small) projects but I won't be able to keep using or recommending this builder if you do not fix this accessibility issue or provide a workaround. I've tried code and images with alt text but I still get flagged on accessibility. I'm usually the person who is pretty chill and understands you have a roadmap to follow but this is for accessibility. Is there any way you can move this up in your roadmap?
Thanks,

Hi Ariel,
same here. I also tried the costums attrituts - but no result.
I can understand the company's desire to generate revenue. But in doing so, you should never forget the vulnerable. Even as a company. And that's precisely why, in my opinion, accessibility must be a priority-list. Always.
Best regards,
Marc

Hello Brizy Team,
Accessibility is now legally enforced in the EU. This means that without proper implementation of accessibility features, specifically ARIA labels for elements like icon-only links, Brizy cannot be considered compliant and, consequently, might not be usable for developers needing to meet these legal requirements.
Therefore, my question is: What are your current plans regarding the comprehensive implementation of accessibility features, particularly the ability to easily add ARIA labels to elements within Brizy?
Your feedback on this crucial matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello Ulrich,
At the moment, Brizy is not fully compliant with European Accessibility Act. Our developers are currently working on making all Brizy elements accessibility compliant following the guidelines at https://aaardvarkaccessibility.com/wcag-plain-english/1-1-1-non-text-content/ which will add ARIA labels to all elements. We hope to become compliant in a month or two.

Thank you for the quick reply and the information that you're working on accessibility, especially ARIA labels. It's good to hear that this important topic is a priority for you.
As you know, compliance with the European Accessibility Act is not an option, but a legal obligation for many of our projects published in the EU. Websites that don't meet these standards face significant risks, including potential legal consequences. A month or two is a long time for ongoing projects, so this needs to be resolved as quickly as possible.
I urge you to treat the implementation of these essential features with the highest priority. For us as users, it's absolutely critical that Brizy becomes fully compliant as soon as possible.
Please inform us immediately once these updates are available and accessibility, especially ARIA labels for all relevant elements, is guaranteed. We rely on Brizy to provide us with the necessary tools to build accessible websites.
Thank you for your efforts.
