Uploading a Typeface
I was wondering how uploads of fonts are handled. Today, I uploaded the typeface Lato, as I have the entire typeface family, and noticed that Lato also is available with Brizy Cloud but it did not have the Semibold or Medium weights. To match the predefined weights that Brizy titles them, I uploaded:
Thin, Light, Normal (Regular), Medium, Semibold, Bold, and Black.
Some are already preinstalled (but may be older versions): Thin, Light, Normal, Bold, and Black.
I was expecting all 7 of my weights to be available, although I wasn't sure since the Brizy options only show 5 weights.
Of the 7 fonts I uploaded only 5 are available, the two that aren't are: Bold and Black.
My question is why the Bold and Black weren't available in my uploaded options, is it because only 5 weights can be available? If so, then it was the luck of the draw that the Medium and Semibold were chosen to be available as I also have the Thin, Light, and Normal in my uploads - which are duplicated in the pre-installed Brizy Lato drop-down.
Please explain how fonts are handled and which may be given preference when uploading newer, duplicates.

Hi Daniel,
We have not attempted to upload 7 variations of a font yet. Hence unsure how the Font Manager would behave in this scenario.
Since Lato is already a Google Font, the Font Manager may become confused if you upload a custom font with the same name. The ideal practice when uploading a Google Font locally is to suffix the font name with "Local" in order to distinguish it from the Google hosted font. You may use the name "Lato Local" for the uploaded Lato font, for instance.
Please let us know if you would like us to test it and respond with the expected behavior of the Font Manager after uploading all of the available variations. We will do that.0
