woocommerce - brizy template?
I'm trying to wrap my head around how templates and pages connect with each other. I understand I can set a page to use a template but then shouldn't I see my different Brizy templates in this dropdown rather than just a generic "Brizy Template?" See below.
Also, where does the default Woocommerce Shop page inherit its style from? I assumed it was just coded in the theme but now my default shop page shows up blank so it must be trying to inherit from a Brizy template I deleted while learning this.

Hi Ryan,
Brizy has Page Templates and WooCommerce templates. Let me explain the difference.
-
Page Template: Page template applies to Pages. Default Page Template allows you to design the HTML body of the pages using Brizy, while the header and footer are designed using the theme. Brizy Template allows you to design the entire page, including the header, the body and the footer using Brizy. (No part of the page is designed using the theme)
-
WooCommerce Templates: These templates are created under Brizy - Templates in your WordPress Dashboard. You provide a Brizy design for your Shop page and the product pages using these templates.
The Shop page can have a Brizy Page Template or the Default Page Template. Your Shop page will have Brizy header, body and footer if you use the Brizy Page Template. The Shop page will have the theme header and footer and Brizy product catalog when using the Default Page Template.
We do not have a comprehensive tutorial on developing the Shop page and product pages using Brizy. You can get a broad idea from this webinar WooCommerce Builder is Here — A Sneak Peek Into WordPress

Thanks for the response but I'm still unclear. If I can create multiple Brizy Templates, then why don't I see those in the drop-down when I am selecting the template on the page as I displayed in my original screenshot? If I don't select my Brizy Template there, then how do I tell my page to use one of those templates?
When you say my shop page, can have a Brizy template or Default Page template, where is this Brizy template designed and if it's in the Brizy Templates area, again, why can't I choose from the multiple templates I have created?

Thanks for this. I will watch this next week and respond. Basically, I'm just trying to understand how to create custom product pages and product listing pages, and if I change X in one place how it affects it in other places. Have a blessed weekend. :)

Thanks for the video. It helps but I'm still a bit confused. I think it's largely a terminology thing that is messing me up.
At the 1-minute mark, you change to Brizy Template. Where is that template and can I edit it?
I think what is confusing is when you say WooCommerce template you are actually going to Brizy -> Templates. To me, those would be Brizy Templates, but you are saying those are WooCommerce templates?
Finally, how does the shop page know to inherit the Shop Template from Brizy -> Templates? Is it based on the page title? It makes sense to me that there would be a drop-down on the shop page and I would there select the appropriate template from Brizy -> Templates but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Hi Ryan,
There are three types of Brizy Templates.
- Brizy Page Templates - I explained this in the screen recording
- Brizy Templates for WooCommerce - The Shop template is a Brizy Template you can create for WooCommerce.
- Brizy Templates for blogging.
Brizy Templates for WooCommerce is what I call WooCommerce templates in short.
How does the shop page know to inherit the Shop Template from Brizy -> Templates? The theme Shop page is replaced with the Brizy Template for the Shop with the help of the following Display Condition.
Similarly the theme product pages are replaced with the Brizy Templates for products with the help of the following Display Condition
In the drop-down on the Shop page, if you select the Brizy template, your Shop page will have the Brizy header and Brizy footer. If you select the Default Template, your Shop page will have the theme header and the footer.0 -
Ahh. got it. thanks
