Indexing issues with Google

    Hi David,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Could you please provide more details about how you encountered the 'Not Found (404)' and 'Page with redirect' issues you mentioned?

In the meantime, if you have a one-page website, the sitemap.xml may not be very helpful in this situation. Google search will only scan the content on that specific page. Additionally, if your website was recently published, it might take some time for Google to index your content. To ensure that your site gets indexed, make sure you have submitted it to Google by following the instructions provided in the link below. Just be patient and wait for it to be indexed:

Regarding the 404 page, it is only triggered when a requested page from the URL does not exist (for example: https://www.mywebsiteaddress.ca/mypage). By default, 404 pages are not indexed.

    Best regards,
    Ariel H.

    Hi Ariel,

I added the sitemap a few months ago and the status in the Google Search Console says 'Success'.

If I inspect the page on Google Search Console the 'URL is on Google' = Success. 'Page Indexing' = Success. 'HTTPS' = Success.

When I click on 'Indexing / Pages'. I have errors on 'NOT FOUND (404)' and 'PAGE WITH REDIRECT'. I have submitted rechecks a few times, but it fails everytime.

The site is a one-page website.

    Hi David,

To check if you have indexing issues, in Google Search Console, under Pages, you must click on "View data about indexed pages" and check if all the pages on your website are included.

There are no indexing issues on your website at the moment since the only page on your website is already in Google Index.

If some of your webpages are not indexed, you need to look at the section "Why pages aren’t indexed". Since the only page on your website is already in Google Index, this section is irrelevant for you and you can ignore all the warnings in this section.

Pages with redirect show a list of URL options which are not indexed. For example, http://www.aronsoneldercareconsulting.ca/ gets redirected to https://www.aronsoneldercareconsulting.ca/ Google will not index http://www.aronsoneldercareconsulting.ca/ since it gets redirected to https URL.

NOT FOUND (404) shows a list of URLs not included in the Google Index because the crawler could not find the page. This listing is irrelevant for your website as the only page on your website is already indexed.

    Hi KC George,

Sounds like I have nothing to worry about then.

    These won't affect my listing?

    Hi David,

You are right; your Google listing is unaffected by the alerts provided under the "Why pages aren't indexed" heading.

You can click on the 'Not Found (404)' to see the URL which was not indexed because of the 'Page Not Found' error.

    Hi KC George,

Yep, it lists the following :

I don't have a blog active and have no pages in the posts section.
