    Hi Johan

When trying to update the page https://vboquhgu2w-staging.wpdns.site/executive-education-state-of-the-art-project-management/ an HTTP request from /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php is receiving a 504 Gateway Timeout error. Please see this screenshot https://jmp.sh/0QrDC0Il

A 504 Gateway Timeout error indicates that the CDN is waiting too long for a response from the origin server and hence “timing out.” If you have deployed the staging site on Cloudflare CDN, temporarily disable the CDN and try to update the page again.

    Hi KC George,

Thank you, we are not using Cloudflare CDN, is there any other possible cause since it is only these two pages that are affected, i.e. we are able to edit the other pages of the same site?

    Hi Johan,

We may be able to fix this by Monday. The fix will be implemented on your staging site. You will need to migrate the changes to the live site later.

    Hi Nexus,

    Thank you for your cooperation

Upon checking, it seems that the issue may be caused by an excessive number of revisions on the affected page.

To resolve this, I recommend trying the steps outlined in the following article to clean up the revisions: https://www.wpkube.com/how-to-disable-post-revisions-in-wordpress/
One easy method discussed in the article is to use WP Optimize.

Once you've followed these steps, please revisit the page and see if you're able to replicate the issue.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

    Best regards,
    Ariel H.

    Hi Ariel H.,

Thank you, I have removed the revisions, and also had the PHP memory limit increased to 512 MB however the problem remains.

    Kind regards,

    Johan

    Hi Ariel H.

I have found that we can update the page if we shorten the page significantly, i.e. delete most of the blocks.  So it seems Brizy is unable to handle the large page and either it times out too soon or has a block limit which needs to be adjusted. The two shortened pages that can now be saved are here:

    https://vboquhgu2w-staging.wpdns.site/wp-admin/post.php?action=in-front-editor&post=8040

    https://vboquhgu2w-staging.wpdns.site/wp-admin/post.php?action=in-front-editor&post=8066

Unfortunately shortening the page is not a way forward for our client and we need a solution asap since he has to launch his marketing for the February 2024 courses.

    Hi Johan,

I'm sorry for any trouble caused. I'd love to provide you with an ETA, but sadly, we don't have any updates just yet. Rest assured, we're actively pursuing this and will reach out as soon as we have any news.

While we wait for feedback from our senior support, I suspect the issue might be due to certain limitations on this server. With your consent, I'd like to download your site and test it in a different environment.

    Best regards,
    Ariel H.

    Hi Ariel H.

Yes please test the site on another server.

Do you have the server requirements for us?

    Hi Johan,

    Thank you for your cooperation.

I have created a duplicate of your site, which you can access at this link - https://sitebuilder1.online/case63090b/wp-admin/

I have attempted to edit the affected pages, but I was unable to replicate the issue. I encourage you to try it on your end using the same credentials you provided to confirm.

The only difference on this server is that it is using PHP 8.1.26. You can find the server details for comparison at this link - https://imgur.com/1uqhmed

Please feel free to test your site on this environment. If you are unable to replicate the issue, it may be necessary to contact your hosting provider and inform them about the issue. You can also provide them with access to this duplicate site for further comparison.

In the meantime, we will continue to await feedback from our senior support team and will provide you with updates as soon as we have them.

    Best regards,
    Ariel H.

    Dear Ariel H.

Thank you so much. I could also not reproduce the problem on your test server and have contacted our hosting provider.

I would appreciate it if your Senior Support can still continue to investigate on your end and I will keep you updated on the progress with our hosting provider.

    Best regards, Johan

    Hi Johan,

    Thank you for waiting.

After consulting with our developers, it appears that the server hosting your website has certain limitations that prevent it from accommodating large pages. It's worth noting that this issue was not replicated in the previous test environment we set up for you. To resolve this, I recommend reaching out to your server administrators and bringing this matter to their attention. We have included a file with the blocked request, which you can access here:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1G3af4y2fVqEdTqe_VUN0OiI9VQvM4pec/view?usp=sharing
Please provide them with a copy of this text file.

If, after discussing the issue with your server administrator, you find that they are unable to resolve the problem, you may need to consider moving to another hosting provider that can better accommodate your website's needs.

While we would love to assist further, this issue seems to be more closely related to your server configuration.

If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to let us know.

    Best regards,
    Ariel H.
