Sort custom assets by...?

UPDATE: ofcourse it can be achieved :)

With a little workaround: Use the default custom asset Title as a sorting element, so every Custom asset post/page beginns with like: 01 This is headding...  02 The second one... etc. And as I do not want numbers in Titles, I created another Text element and used that as dynamic content for H1 in global element. And deleted Custom asset (dynamic) Title from the global element. This way is this changed in my 50 custom assets at once and I only need to copy paste original Titles and to those original ones I had to add number to the beginning to sort them.  And than I use Sort by Title option and voila – it is done :)

And thanks to Brizy options for custom SEO title and Social media Title I can have those titles without numbers as well :) 

So it takes a bit of time, sure, but the main message is: It can be done and outcome achieved :)

Hello, I need to sort my custom assets by my own ID, which I created for them /it is Number element/. Yet I am not able to and sorting options are totally not sufficient for my client (and for me as well). 
I have approx 50 custom asset items (imagine movies or courses) and they all are presented in one large “gallery“. Everything is ok, but for sorting. I am sure there are ways how to achieve custom sorting (as it is such basic and necesssary function), and I do not see it. As a workaround I would use sort by ID, but I am unable to find ID of my custom assets and most importantly – how to change this ID so I can sort them the way I want.

I also miss the option to display category names above this „gallery“ of my custom asset pages, so visitor can filter and display only those related to particular category /I created categories as custom assets as well). I am sure, that I only overlooked how to achieve what I need. Thank you
