Fav icon not appearing on google search
Hello Brizy,
I have uploaded a fav icon to my website, it does appear when I open the browser page but I need it to appear on the search page next to my website link instead of the earth icon like the attached image.
How to do so via brizy cloud?

Thank you,

Hi Raghad,
Thank you for contacting us.
You might be using non-standard favicon dimensions or unsupported image formats may cause issues with its visibility.
To address this, make sure that the favicon image is correctly sized according to Google's recommendations.

Dear Ariel,
Thank you for your suggested solutions, I've been trying .ico and .png on different dimensions.
The last attempt of mine was 48 x 48 .png but it still won't appear on google results page.
I'm not sure what to do next?
Thank you,

Hi Raghad,
Thank you for the update.
If you recently launched this website, it will typically take some time for Google to display your website's favicon in search results.
You may need to send your website to Google Search Console, so it will be indexed properly and possibly speed up the process.

Thank you Ariel,
I actually waited for my website to get re-indexed before replying again.. it took forever but now it is working fine.
Thanks for your help again, much appreciated.

Hi Jordan,
Thank you for contacting us.
For a newly published website, it can take some time for the favicon to update in search results, even after you've submitted your site for indexing. Google doesn’t refresh favicons instantly, so it may take a few days or even weeks for the change to appear in SERPs.
If you’ve already re-indexed your site, I’d recommend giving it a few weeks. If the issue continues after that, please get back to us, and we’ll be happy to take another look.
Best regards,

Hello,
Thank you for the reply. I have this site referenced on brizy cloud but I also have a small handful of sites on Wordpress using brizy pro plugin and all are having this favicon issue in Google search results. They all work in other places such as the browser tab. The sites on Wordpress have been published for months and have been re indexed. Am I maybe doing something wrong?
Thank you!

Hello Jordan,
To make your favicon more eligible to be included in Google Search results, kindly consider these two steps
- Ensure that your fav icon follows the guidelines provided at https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/favicon-in-search Scroll down to the the heading "Guidelines"
- Add a
<link>tag to the header of your home page with the following syntax
<link rel="icon"https://cloud-1de12d.b-cdn.net/media/original/ac4133650ba799e588e8ac840a20d5eb.png">
Under CMS > Pages > click on "Home", the name of your homepage to access your homepage settings and add the above code under Code > Code injection > Header

Hey K C, thank you! After implementing the stuff above and requesting a new crawl, I can see that google is seeing the link tag, but still no favicon showing in google search results. Any ideas?

After requesting indexing for a page in Google Search Console, it can typically take a few days to a week for the page to appear in the Google index, although in some cases, it may take up to a few weeks depending on various factors like website quality and crawl budget.
Now that Google has access to the favicon, it will only be a matter of time until it appears in Google SERP.
