Page not viewable to Users
Hi,
I've been having a problem with one of my sites. This site is for employees, so I use User Role Editor to add specific roles to the site. I recently created a new page, but the users can't view the page. Messing with the "View Page As", the only ways to see it are Administrator or Default. Not even Logged In works. It's not User Role Editor because I tried this on a test site and it works fine. There is something off about this one site. The original content all can be seen by all users, but anything new I am adding is not visible. It's a plain white page with the WP Header on top.
I checked all the settings. I turned on debug, but there are no errors. Likewise, I can override this by making everyone who needs this page an Admin, but I can't have everyone an Admin. I have another page that I created recently work just fine (not even sure why). But I have two pages with Gravity Forms that aren't visible. Not sure if it's related to why it's not working, but a plain page works fine, but not with forms. Also, just in case this helps, I believe this site was once a part of a multi-site. It's no longer multi-site. Could that have messed with the page visibility?

Hi Brooke,
Please check these details
- Unless you have followed a documented process, WordPress can behave unexpectedly when migrating a website from a Multisite environment to its own independent WordPress instance. Here is an example of a documented process. How to Move a Site from WordPress Multisite to Single Install If an arbitrary process was followed, it may be better to start with a fresh installation of WordPress than trying to fix a faulty installation. Do you know what process was followed for the migration?
- Have you assigned the right access privileges to the employee user in the User Role Editor?

I wasn't the one to set it up and remove it so, I'm not 100% sure how it was migrated off of multi-site. I don't remember us doing a fresh install, though. I'm going to try doing a fresh install and migration this week to see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, I'll send an email with login information for some assistance.

I sent the login details to that email. I tried doing a fresh install, but that didn't fix the issue at all.

When attempting to access the WordPress Dashboard for your employee portal, I encounter a Microsoft login screen. I tried all the sign-in possibilities, but I was unable to sign in. Could you please provide us with further sign-in instructions?

Hi Brandy,
I have taken a look at your Employee portal. The project looks correctly implemented and all pages appear working fine. Please have a look at this screen recording. https://jmp.sh/Yy5WcKuD

Your video helped a lot, KC! Thank you! I had no idea there was an option under Block while editing that limited access to certain members. This is the only site we have that was using that. It's a very useful feature that will help greatly now that I know how to allow certain roles to access pages! Thank you so much. This issue is solved.
