customised form with javascript
Hi, I'm not a developer. I have asked chatGPT to create me a customised form for my website, because it involves calculation and therefore javascript, which I understand Brizy forms can't do (pls correct me if I'm wrong). ChatGPT has written me a perfect form and given the the HTML and javascript code. I then installed the Shortcoder plugin to wordpress to create the shortcode in order to embed it into my website.
The form itself is embedded into my brizy website and works beautifully, but only for the core functionality and appearance I specified. To fully implement the email submission feature, ChatGPT has told me I would need server-side script (e.g., using PHP or integrating with a WordPress plugin). I told it I was using wordpress and brizy, but its instructions got too complicated for me because it involved editing code on my theme and I'm reluctant to do this (I think it's a parent theme) since I'm not a coder.
Can you please advise the easiest way to use the form I have created, but connect it to Brizy's app integration with wordpress, so that I can receive an email summarising the responses?
Thank you,
Sally

Hello Sally,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
While ChatGPT can generate functional code, I must inform you that if you are trying to enhance the capabilities of Brizy using custom code, you will need to consult a developer. They will be able to create the specific functionalities you require. This may involve adding a function to the functions.php file on WordPress or creating a plugin to receive and process the form submissions. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide support for custom code as it falls outside the scope of our support. Our support is only limited to the existing features of Brizy Builder.
Alternatively, if you provide us with more details about the issue you are facing, we may be able to suggest a solution using the features already available in Brizy.
I am looking forward to your response.

Hi Ariel, Thanks for your quick reply. Yes, you are right in that I’m trying to create a custom form outside of Brizy. I did this because I couldn’t work out how to make the Brizy forms do what I wanted. So, if you can suggest a solution using the features already available in Brizy, that would be the best option. If the functionality isn’t available in Brizy and I need to continue with custom code, then I would greatly value your suggestion/s for an external plugin that I could try to to receive and process the form submissions. To give you an idea of the custom form I’ve created, I’ve published it here: test forms from gpt – The Happy Finance Company (https://thehappyfinancecompany.com.au/test-refi-gpt-form/) Please take a look and fill it out with dummy data, as more questions appear as you complete the first few questions. The form has javascript code in it, and chatgpt told me I could create the basic form fields that I needed in Brizy and then drag in the shortcode for the javascript. But as I’m not a developer, this was a little complicated for me. None the less, the basic form with all the required fields created within Brizy is on the above webpage underneath the custom form, should you need to see it. It doesn’t have any calculations/functionality behind it. Thank you and I look forward to your reply 😊 Cheers, Sally

Hi Sally,
Thank you for the update.
Unfortunately, the Brizy form element does not include features such as conditional logic and calculations. However, you can achieve the form you want by using a third-party plugin called Forminator.
You can find a full tutorial on this link - https://youtu.be/dLsX-OUaomU?si=mO_msRY-P36HEGUn
Once you have created your form using Forminator, you can generate a shortcode for it. Then, in Brizy, you can use the shortcode element to embed your custom form into a Brizy page.I hope this helps.
