    Hi David,

    1. We have created an issue for our developers and they will take a look at your project to see why it returns the Gateway Timeout error.
    2. In the Brizy Cloud Dashboard click on the three dots on any project and you will see the option to Duplicate an entire project. Please check it out.
    3. First preview after an update is still slower. We have not implemented a solution for this yet.

    Hi KC,

I've returned to this project to find that issue 1 is still outstanding. I'm still getting 'Gateway Timeout' on the back end. This has been down for 8 days now. This is not acceptable.

Let me know if the problem can be fixed, and if so, when? Also, as this is the second time this site has had issues, how likely is it that it ill happen again?

I'm aware that its a large, dynamic site, probably better suited to a web app...however, as you are now pushing the dynamic element of your sites, this is going to be an increasing problem and I use Brizy because I paid for Brizy...web apps will require additional hosting costs.

It also suffers badly from first loading times, as mentioned above. I hope you can sort the caching issue soon.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to the site to make it load quicker in the meantime. Would more, smaller pages help? I already minimised the images using jpeg + further compression.

    Thanks.

    David

    Hi David,

This problem was addressed by our developers, who worked on it for a while. I let them know the problem persists and they will take another look at it. I suppose there is a chance that a similar problem will arise again in the future.

I still hope you could redo this project using a directory plugin in WordPress. This will allow you to implement the project without feeling constrained by these performance issues.

The problem with the pages taking longer to load after every update persists. Your project is already slow, making the first loading after every update much slower.

    Hi,

When you say 'redo this project using a directory plugin in WordPress, can you elaborate? Which plugin are you thinking of? What's the best way to transfer this across to WP? I have a Namecheap hosting package, but I haven't used WP in quite a few years, preferring to stick with Brizy cloud.

Any guidance or instructions would be welcome.

    Regards,

    David

    Hi David,

Please have a look at this article for a list of WordPress directory plugins you can consider. 10 Best WordPress Directory Plugins to Organize Your Listings The project couldn't be transferred over to WordPress. It must be started as a new project. These plugins have a lot more useful functionality because they are focussed on directory listing.

It would be ideal to host a directory listing website with a cloud hosting plan of a hosting company. When several users upload their lists to the directory, you will be able to scale up your hosting thanks to this. Please have a look at these cloud hosting providers as an illustration. Most of the cloud hosting plans offer an hourly rate.

If you prefer hosting with Namecheap, you can consider their VPS plan. https://www.namecheap.com/hosting/vps/
