Blog Post Excerpt Problem

I've attached an image of the problem. The function that imports the blog post excerpt pulls from a box in the header. It reformats the text as well. 

How do I fix that?

Is there a way to just show featured image and headline only?

  Based on your description, it appears that you are using either the archive or the post elements. To modify the excerpt text, you can make use of the available formatting tools to adjust the typography according to your preferences. In case you wish to display only the title without any excerpt text, you have the option to delete it.
