Whats going on with my sitemap? It gets redirected to a 404

  Please confirm that you have added the above URL to Google Search console and let us know if you are still seeing a sitemap error.

  Hi Zach,

  It seems that the problem might be associated with the cache. We were able to access the sitemap.xml, as shown in this screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/exRwBp3.png

  Please try clearing your browser cache or try using a different browser to see if this resolves the issue.

  Yes i know. Google shows pages are indexed but theres an error. That was the point.

  Please send me a list of pages which are not indexed. I will help you to get all your pages indexed so that you are not affected by the sitemap error.

  i don't understand. Why do we have to leave the error? Wouldn't it be best to just fix the error?

  Hi Zach,

  The Search Console error reads, "Your Sitemap or Sitemap index file does not properly declare the namespace". It does not explain what a "proper declaration of Namespace" is. It is difficult to rectify an error without a clear definition of what it is. It's similar to saying "your English has grammar errors" without specifying what the errors are.

  It is referring to a deviation from their expectation in this line. 

  <urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/xhtml11_schema.html" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9 http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9/sitemap.xsd">

   

  Besides, error reporting by Search Console looks inconsistent. There are no sitemap errors in Google Search Console for another Brizy Cloud website, https://www.rishikeshwalks.in/. The search console reports an error for one sitemap but not for another, despite the fact that both sitemaps are generated automatically by Brizy Cloud.  

  

   

  Hence it may better to fix the indexing errors rather than fixing the sitemap errors.
