Horrible PageSpeed performance issues
I use Brizy Cloud for simplicity. I'm wondering why my load times are consistently so long. When I run a pagespeed analysis everything but performance comes back as good and it seems to be issues with the way brizy does things. Can anyone offer insight into if these problems are fix-able? I'm no pro but the resutls seem to indicate things I'm not sure I have control over like:
Reduce unused JavaScript
Reduce the impact of third-party code
Reduce unused CSS
Does not use passive listeners to improve scrolling performance
Avoid an excessive DOM size

Hi Brandon,
Thank you for contacting us.
Upon checking, this issue is mainly coming from the Google Tag Manager script that is embedded on your website, which is affecting your page speed – https://prnt.sc/MXZYC-bV9Gug
To resolve this issue, you might want to consider using a timer trigger as suggested in the below article to improve your page loading times:
https://help.snapengage.com/add-timer-trigger-to-google-tag-to-fix-slow-loading-speeds/Furthermore, about the excessive DOM size section in Google page insights, you may want to change the phone image with one of our available icons, instead of using an SGV file and see if this will help: https://prnt.sc/kapj9fB2c0QI
If you have any further questions, please let us know.
Best regards,

Thanks for pointing that out, I'll begin looking into this.

I've double checked and that is one of your icons.
Also, I changed the 1st, main background image on desktop to a smaller size so that may have helped desktop load time since I posted the question and the mobile load time seems to have reduced by a full second but still, from the insights link I sent, mobile load time is close to 4 seconds. Can you provide similar insight as to why that's so much worse? The performance rating is 41 vs 89 on desktop. Am I understanding this correctly that the slow load time for mobile is mostly due to google tag manager as well?

Hi Brandon,
Thank you for keeping in touch.
To provide you with a more accurate insight into this issue, I'd like to replicate the problem in our test environment. If you could kindly save the problematic page as a layout and send us the file. I have created a brief screencast demonstrating the steps to save the layout, which you can access through this link: https://youtu.be/Bp5AOSsH_9E
I am looking forward to your response.
Best regards,

I've saved the layout but I don't see the download button. Could this be because I'm on cloud?

Hi Brandon,
The download button should appear when you hover your mouse on the of the layout - https://i.imgur.com/6C3QesU.png

The only thing that appears is the trash icon (in the top right corner.)

Hi Brandon,
After you have removed the Google Analytics code, your site performance has improved. Now your Pagespeed Insights mobile score has gone up to 63 (from 54) https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-www-peerlesspest-com/hm3s5o79d5?form_factor=mobile. I would say 63 is a reasonably good score comparing to Google.com's PSI score of 74.
Performance score of your website in GT Metrix also looks good. https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.peerlesspest.com/wlD57y5W/
