Bulk Redirects?
I have an eCommerce client on WordPress that needs to revert to a one-pager site for the next 1.5-2 years (i.e. stop offering things for sale online).
I thought of creating said one-pager in Brizy Cloud, but how will redirects be handled? I see from your support docs that there is a place to list them. What would you suggest is the best approach?
I guess I could:
- use a tool to scrape all URLs from the existing site
- dump that in a spreadsheet
- remove any that are irrelevant
- add a redirect to the root domain
- paste that in the redirects section of Brizy Cloud
I read in another post that "incorrect page will be redirected automatically to the homepage" so is the above even necessary or completely redundant?
From an SEO perspective is that the best approach?
Thanks!

Hi Tyler,
If your customer is willing to continue paying for the current hosting plan, the first choice would be to add a Coming Soon/Maintenance plugin to your WordPress website. The plugin will take care of redirecting all traffic to the homepage. Here is a list of plugins you could consider. https://optinmonster.com/wordpress-maintenance-mode-coming-soon-plugins/
Your second option is to host a single page website on Brizy Cloud. With Brizy Cloud, there is no need to create a redirect list because all pages that cannot be found are automatically redirected to the home page (if a 404 page is not setup).
Regardless of the implementation strategy you use, Google is likely to remove all of a website's pages from its index if it is inactive for 1.5 to 2 years.
