    Hi

You can upload webp images to your Media Library and use it in your Brizy website using either Custom or Original size option. For example, I have uploaded a webp image to this page using Custom size option. https://brizytest.online/webp

If you use the Custom size for an image, Brizy is responsible for resizing and optimizing the image for different devices. If you choose the 'Original' or any other size for your images, Brizy will not resize or optimize your images; you are free to use any image optimization plugin to optimize your images.

    Hi

Everything I have mentioned about webp will also apply to JPG and PNG images.

I am asking, and I have seen that if we upload jpg or png which should be converted by the plugin to webp, your custom image is staying of the same original type of that image.

If the custom is also converting to webp then perfect, if not then what is the solution to show a custom web image that was originally uploaded as jpg or png. I hope it's clear now

    Hi

If you would like to upload images in JPG and PNG format and expect a plugin to convert to webp, then you cannot select the custom image size in Brizy.

Please convert your images to webp using a service like https://cloudconvert.com/ and then upload to Media Library as webp. You can use custom size option for all your images if you follow this approach.

This is a website that has 3500+ images, 3 years worth of uploads, since I can't choose custom, how can I display custom? Specify the image dimensions to show.

    Hi

As I understand, you would like to fulfil these conditions

    • Upload images in PNG and JPG formats
    • Different images are of different dimensions
    • Images must be converted to webp using a plugin
    • Converted images must be displayed using same width and height

Please watch this video for a possible solution you can consider. https://jmp.sh/YQMSjdzo This solution will involve some additional work from your side.

Can this be done in the blog? I am using the archive model to display the articles. If I did that it doesn't seem I can choose the post featured image as a background to the div.

    Hi

The work around I have suggested above will work only for regular images. The blog post featured images cannot be displayed in webp format using an image optimization plugin. You will have to convert the featured images to webp first and then upload it.
