Display Linked Assets

    Hi Viktor,

What you are looking for is not possible. Let me explain why. You can create Custom Assets and Taxonomies in Brizy Cloud and connect them. Using an example, I'll explain; suppose you have added Products as custom assets and you want to categorize them under

    1. For Men
    2. For Women
    3. For Children

Products are custom assets in this case, while For Men, For Women, and For Children are taxonomies. You can display assets within a taxonomy using the Posts/Assets element. You can list products that fall under the taxonomies For Men, For Women, and For Children in the example above.

However, it is not possible to display taxonomies linked to a specific custom asset using the Posts/Assets element. For instance, it is impossible to list the taxonomies related with a product, such as For Men, For Women, and For Children.

I'll use another illustration. Blog posts and their categories can be considered a custom asset and its taxonomy. Using the Posts element, you can list list blog posts that belongs to different categories, but can't list different categories that a blog post is associated with.

Coming to your example. let's say you setup Courses as custom assets and Teachers and Topics as taxonomies. With Posts/Assets element, you can list custom assets that belong to a taxonomy. You would be able to list courses which are categorised under different Teachers and Topics. However listing of taxonomies associated with a custom asset is not possible. Hence you cannot list teachers and topics associated with a specific course.

Thak you, George for your explanation!
I understand that what I want is not possible in Brizy now and will look for a workaround.
Yet, please, tell me is this obstacle a technical limitation or a design decision of the Brizy platform.  I'm asking because in Wordpress for example there is no problem to show associated tags for an article and to list associated articles for a particular tags, right?  So, if this is by design, please add a feature request for your team for a solution, as I believe this is quite common and natural behavior when you have relationship between Classes and Teachers for example.

    Hi Viktor,

The principle I have mentioned above works even for WordPress.  While you can list products that belong to a specific category, you cannot list categories associated with a specific product in the same manner.

If you setup courses as Custom Post Types and Teachers and Topics as taxonomies in WordPress, you can develop Teacher and Topic archive pages and display courses for each Teacher and Topic. However you cannot list teachers and topics associated with a course (unless you want to display them as text like tags and categories are displayed in blog posts).

If you would like to display the Teachers and Topics associated with a course in text format just like tags and categories are displayed in a blog post, you can do it with Brizy Cloud.

I believe what Viktor was asking for was the scenario in KC's final paragraph in reply above, but without having to add the related asset taxonomies by hand, rather having them automatically listed - still in text format but choosable like a dynamic element - like tags and categories often are for WP posts. Is this not possible? I agree it would be a useful feature.

    Hi Timothy,

Like in this page, https://www.mckinsey.com/about-us/new-at-mckinsey-blog, you can display categories and tags associated with a blog post using text. Have a look at this Brizy blog archive page for an example. https://brizy.tech/blog/
