Lock Desktop Mode From Mobile/Table Changes

Hi there. Question. When I go to the mobile view of the site I'm working on and make changes, when I go back to the desktop view, it updates those same changes,which ultimately "messes up" the desktop version.

That being said, is there a way to "lock" the desktop view, so when we go update the mobile view, it's specifically for the mobile view and doesn't change anything on the desktop side?

  Hi Lamont,

  While content modifications are applied to all devices at once, style modifications are only applied to the specific device.  If you update content (like headings, text) on the mobile design view, the same will change also on the Desktop. If you are making style changes like margins, paddings, typography, colors, font size, borders, shadows, etc. the selection you make for mobile will apply only to the mobile.

  Are you trying to have one content for the desktop and another for the mobile?

  Hi KC,

  Thanks for the response here. Yes, I ultimately need to have the desktop version "look one way", and have the mobile version "look another way", but the overall content stays the same if that makes sense.

  Hi Lamont,

  If the content (text, images, icons etc) remain the same on the desktop and the mobile, you are discussing about styling changes. The styling changes you make in mobile design view should apply only to mobile device and should not affect your desktop design.

  If you are facing issues in making your design responsive, can you demonstrate it through screenshots or by a screen recording? Or do you prefer a Zoom call to discuss the issues you are facing?
