    Hi Lydia,

At my end, your website looks fine. Here is what I see when checking your homepage. https://jmp.sh/LbiyCHHO

I am also able to login to your WordPress Dashboard. https://jmp.sh/QqiUywUZ

Looks like you could restore your website?

    Hi KC:

I ran a backup (from about a week ago) and it eventually brought back a functional site. But I had spent hours updating pages, etc and all that work was lost. Plus I had a sale only yesterday and have lost the customer info in WooCommerce. Luckily, I still have a phone number for him from an email exchange.

I cannot imagine what caused this in terms of my activities on the site. I did nothing special. Really, I am a little afraid to touch the site but must make updates. Only hoping this won't happen again.

In any case, thank you for getting back to me so quickly. I was in a full panic until the site reappeared a while after I sent the email to support. As you don't see any obvious issue, I will proceed with fingers crossed.

    Thanks again,

    Lydia

    Hi Lydia,

You lost any evidence of the error that led to the breakdown when the website was restored from a backup that was one week old. Therefore, it is impossible to determine what action caused the failure.

I have now installed a plugin, WP Debugging on your WordPress Dashboard. This plugin enables debugging for your website. All PHP warnings and errors will now be logged in a file at https://goodgranary.ca/wp-content/debug.log.

This file returns a 403 Forbidden error when accessing it. Please ask your host to lift any restrictions on this file so it can be accessed at the event of a breakdown.
