    Hi,

    Thank you for contacting us.

Just now I have added a new font and set the green checkmark, everything is working well, see here: https://jumpshare.com/v/jnnCUgnNXn3ZDl9qxHhM   Please clear your browser cache and check again.

    Regards, Nelea.

    Hi Nelea,

I guess it won't solve my issue when you test this on a new dummy project as I can set a default font too on certain projects but on some, it's just not possible! (No error shown in JS console as well).

Can I give you the project_id or similar in order for you to check this on a deeper level?

    Hi Daniel,

Can you please share the public URL of your project? It should be like something.brizy.site or www.yourdomain.com. Please also mention the default font you want to set for your project. We will try to set the default for you.

    Hey,

we have at least two sites that we cannot set/change the default font:

https://wassersuppe.de . The default font should be "Lato Local"

https://physiotherme.com/ . The default font should be "Overpass" (which is an uploaded variant already)

    Another one:
https://kiwi679104.brizy.site/ (Default font should be PFCentroSansPro)

Can you fix it so that we are able to set our own fonts and remove the remaining google font(s)?

Hey, as legal warnings are currently sent to german website ownser due to google fonts usage I wanted to ask if you make any progress here.

Do you need any other information or may I assist in any other way to solve this asap?

    Thanks

    Hi Daniel,

The three projects you have listed above were developed before February 2021 and were created with the previous Brizy Cloud builder version. With the old Brizy Cloud project format, it is not possible to change the default font.

You must start over with the projects in the current Brizy Cloud project format in order to resolve the problem. These are the steps.

    1. Create a new project
    2. Save each page in the old project as a layout
    3. Import page by page to the new project
    4. Copy paste the global styles and typography from the old to the new project
    5. Recreate menu, setup global blocks and display conditions
    6. Re-install local fonts and set a local font as the default

This is a real pain! As Daniel Klotz already mentioned the are legal warnings concerning Google Fonts in Germany right now! (Website owners get letters from lawyers telling you to pay 170€ (for each website) because of using Google Fonts!)

Please offer a simple option to stop loading unused Google Fonts in Brizy Cloud Projects, also older ones!

The process you described is very very time consuming if you run various client sites via Brizy Cloud!

Hope for a quick solution, Thanks

    Hi Sebastian,

Websites developed in the current Brizy Cloud version do not send font requests to Google Fonts. Brizy Cloud recently replaced Google Fonts with Bunny Fonts as the font hosting provider. Bunny Fonts are GDPR compliant because they don't collect or transfer user IP addresses. (In the Munich ruling, the controller received a fine because he employed a font provider that did not adhere to the GDPR.) Visit this link for additional information:  https://bunny.net/blog/bringing-privacy-back-into-your-own-hands-introducing-bunny-fonts/

We are aware of the prevalent perception in Germany that, regardless of whether the external websites are GDPR compliant or not, websites that send HTTP requests to an external server without the user's prior consent are in violation of the GDPR. The removal of all external HTTP requests from a Brizy Cloud website is not a simple task. It takes a while to complete.

I also found to migrate all older brizy cloud projects in order to just remove google fonts a real pain, especially if you have many subpages in it.

So replacing it w/ those bunny fonts seems to be a good and easy fix as an interim solution.
