How to do translations with Brizy? WPML does not work. TranslatePress is not professional.

How can I achieve professional translations with Brizy?

WPML throws exceptions with Brizy and cannot be used at all. In fact Brizy developers recommend TranslatePress. But TranslatePress is not a professional solution, as has been confirmed by their support.

Here the details based on answers from TranslatePress support on what cannot be done:

  • We cannot add or delete a paragraph in the 2nd language that is (or is not) in the 1st language. Essentially, both languages must have identically formatted content.
  • Similarly, if the 2nd language should show a list but the 1st language does not have this list. It is impossible to add the list to the 2nd language.
  • We cannot sort menus alphabetically. If the 1st language menu has A B C D but the translated words are different, then we end up with D A C B in the 2nd language menu.
  • We cannot optimise SEO from Yoast at all, because
  • 1) We can only search for strings and have to "hope" that the string we found is from Yoast and not from the post content.
  • 2) We cannot optimise for Google display at all, because we cannot see the title and meta lengths, as we can in the Yoast interface.

If Brizy does not offer a route to enable professional translations, then Brizy itself cannot be considered a professional solution!

    I love how the official response here is essentially:

    "Yes Philipp, that totally stupid idea is exactly how it's done. Isn't it GREEEAAAAAATTTT!!!".

    I cannot now switch to a third translation plugin. Translations take time and I already lost two days with TranslatePress.

    Besides, WPML is the standard (for better or worse - I actually hate it but there is nothing better). A WP builder that cannot work with standard WP plugins cannot be called a serious contender.

    Hi KC, 

    yeah, thats my goto solution atm, but its as inconvenient as it can be. Wishing there was a way to just edit the text elements without having to duplicate and bloat up the site.

    I am not worried because you did state that you will go into my site and make it possible to use WPML. I expect that you can rectify this in the next few hours - should be easy enough if there are only SOME problems.

    However, from my tests it is completely impossible to do any translations. That is a TOTAL FAILURE not "some".

    It's really disappointing not to be WPML compatible.

    Too bad I have to change my builder to be able to translate my site with my WPML license. 🙄

    as said above WPML is the standard

    And more months gone without any improvement.....
    In every Brizy's webinar I see, there's Dimi praising his friendship with the owner of TranslatePress.

    Starting to asking myself if this is the reason why they won't assign a developer team to speed up the WPML integration :(

    Is there any update? The current solution is, duplicating pages and just use wpml for the toggle. Thats clearly stupid.

    We also can recommend the Polylang plugin for translating the site. It is working fine with Brizy.

    Yes, at the moment we have some problems with WPML plugin, but our developers work hard to solve them as soon as possible!

    Hi,

    Please make this compatible with WPML, its the most popular translation software available. The guys over at WPML have stated publicly that they are waiting on the Brizy team to work with them but haven't had any response for some time (according to the last comments I read).

    They have pointed out that the Brizy team can get FREE help from WPML on making Brizy & WPML compatible but that they need Brizy to work with them.

    Hi Phill,

    Our developers identified that WPML made an update and regarding it, the WPML uses our JSON from the editor to translate the page and after they translate it, they add it in the database. With other words, they edit our JSON and but this JSON very often it changes. On each update, it changes the behaviour. For this reason, appears the problem because there is a high probability to lose or to destroy the JSON.

    I can't say exactly regarding this, we will strive to find a solution for this problem, even if it isn't depending by us but at the moment it is a bit complicated to release this compatibility.

    so if the integration with WPML will not seamlessly possible: you could probably do an own SMALL version to handle TEXT in different languages? (add content-fields for different languages and add a selector-icon in the header)?

    At the moment we don't plan to release a translation option in Brizy builder but we can suggest using another translate plugin, for example, Polylang. It is simple, easy and very intuitive.

    I believe the development teams of Brizy and WPML should sit together to make multi language website with Brizy a hit!

    BTW: I don't use WIX but I tested their multi language capabilities and it works, unfortunately another reason to have WIX as an future solution 🙄

    yes, and meanwhile four months have passed and there is no solution. that's a pity because we use DIVI here in the agency and found brizy very good.

    but if brizy does not become international, it is unfortunately no longer an alternative for us.

    and this is a great pity because brizy is very fast and offers many details that divi does not have to offer.

    maybe it is possible to accelerate this step?

    Hi,

    Thank you for your warm words. Yes, at the moment we have a problem with the WPML and we are investigating it and are founding a solution for it but this doesn't mean that the Brizy site can't be translated. You can use the Polylang plugin and translate the pages created with Brizy.

    I agree with you that WPML + Brizy should work 100% but, DIVI and WPML is not a great team too. DIVI's Global Modules and WPML is a drama. I tested TranslatePress and can not figure out why this post started with "TranslatePress is not professional", the free version did the thing for me.

    I want to stay with WPML because I have too many WPML based websites trough a freelance license so yes, I prefer a solution but I think WPML has to put also their effort in it.

    @Ambrogio Crotti I raised this same point some time ago and got a rather unprofessional response from Dimi claiming that how could they be all cosied up with TranslatePress when it's a free plugin.... "Why would we promote it. There's no financial gain" (praraphrased).

    Well... TranslatePress does have a paid option that you actually need if you plan on doing anything half authentic in terms of translating a WP site for business purposes.

     

    Anyway, for what it's worth... I actually worked out a very usable workflow for using WPML for professional / Business / Paid Client sites. I'll document it once I actually have time to do so.

    Would be really interesting to see your workflow.

    In my case I couldn't find any useful option.
    I do all multilanguage sites with Gutenberg Blocks and Toolset/WPML.

    And if Gutenberg evolve a bit more, in term of functionality, I think I will drop Brizy definitely.
    Too many incompatibilities and bugs by every update.

    Don't get me wrong: the Brizy's concept is great, but their development and testing policy makes Brizy too risky to use on customer sites.

    If you need something more than translating a few strings, you'll realize that Brizy is far from being WPML compatible.

    Hi KC, what Philipp means is that the implementation of WPML is very rudimentary. All the advanced functions of WPML do not work with Brizy.

    We also have several Brizy websites with WPML online, but the development of these sites has been a nightmare.

    What is humiliating is that the new sporadic updates only add superfluous animations and graphics.
    It is like putting candies on top of a bitter cake.
