How do we add alt attributes to images?
I want to make sure my site is accessible, but I can't see a way to add alt attributes to images? Can anyone please help if I'm missing something...?

Hey, Sorry for the late reply, we had a longer holiday this year :)
Ah that is not possible right now, but it is on the list to be added in a future update. We are planning a custom media library so most likely it would be a part of that.

Thanks Dimi. I’ve been really impressed with Brizy cloud so far and am planning to replace all our existing client sites with it. I am rather concerned about the lack of accessibility however, which I had just taken for granted would be available in 2020. I appreciate you have a lot on the roadmap but I feel that making websites accessible, although not legally required, is the right thing to do, not to mention SEO benefits. It is mortifying for me personally to be creating non-compliant sites which exclude people with disabilities. I understand your team is being pulled in many directions but I just wanted to explain my point of view. I’d be grateful if you would give this feature serious consideration for prioritisation if at all possible. If you have any sort of ETA please let me know.
Thank you so much for your understanding,
Tes

Hey,, I understand perfectly where you are coming from. Can't put a date on it unfortunately as it is most likely bound to create false expectations, and to be honest I don't know so I can't just throw in an ETA for the sake of it.
SEO and accessibility are important for us as well. The reason some of the little things (granted important) are not there is because we released the Cloud with what it is at this point and build on top. In a fantasy world where you have unlimited time and resources and you can take your sweet time to bring everything to 110% we might have waited, keep the whole platform under wraps, and launched ... probably never :)) because there is always something that is missing or needs improvement.
This way we pushed it out. it does what is does now great, the foundation is rock solid, and we build from there.
What I'll do is add an issue specifically for this alt img. maybe we can separate the alt from the media library and figure out an intermediary solution until we come up with the media library.
Cheers.

I would like to add to this, since it looks like it was 3 months ago and we still don't have the alt text option. The lack of this option, combined with the fact that there are no per-page previews on social shares, radically decreases the visibility and potential of any Brizy Cloud site. I am IN LOVE with the builder and pushing it to all of my clients and students but we very much need the SEO stuff asap. Please please please. I can't really launch any of the sites I'm building without these.
1. image alt text for SEO and for accessibility, as noted above.
2. per-page previews on social shares, not just the same preview for the whole site!! Every page has a title and description--it makes no sense that those don't show up in the preview and search engines will miss them as well
3. per-page code insertion for canonical links and analytics tracking. Again, without these we really can't do professional sites here. Especially since you aren't giving us any stats at all on traffic. We need a way to tag each page.Thank yoU!!

I know, I'll discuss it with the guys and see where we are on these.

that's lovely Dimi thank you so much. Also maybe lifetime folks (AppSumo) would pay for an upgrade with an "SEO kit" that includes these things. I sure would pay a reasonable extra for the upgrade and it's not uncommon for appsumo deals to do this.

no no, this should be in and will be included for sure.

OMG. I just discovered that Images don't have ALT-text ?!!!
This is ESSENTIAL I simply cannot use any page that doesn't have this, is so much a requirement that I didn't even check if it was available and I've haven't seen anything in the last 10 years that doesn't have it.
Is there some better guidance of when this will be available, or do I have to abandon my plans to use Brizy?
[UPDATE - Those who are reading this, I have decide to output as HTML and than manually add alt-text into the html so I can use Brizy until this is added]
Seriously this is a feature that EVERY single person needs.
I'm not joking when I say that to anyone who understands even basic SEO would deem Brizy (or any other system) 100% useless without it.
Please don't think I'm being nasty or critical, text can come across like that. I'm just trying to say, this is REALLY importantl, I see this tread is over 5 months old, but I would honestly say this should be number 1 on your roadmap. I can't use Brizy without and nor would anyone else be able to (if they cared about how the page was perceived by a search engine).
If I could do anything to help (I can't, I know little about programming) - I would!
Good luck, I hope you get this added soon because I love Brizy and also the way you do things!
Please tell me I'm wrong and show me how to use ALT-text!!!

Hi Karin,
Reading your comment I thought for a second that the alt attribute is something vital for the human being ))))
I have good news for you: image ALT will be included in the next update.

We haven't released a new update yet. The new version is in beta now.

How long is a new version usually in beta for before it gets released? will it address SEO in general or just image ALT tag?
thanks

there are a lot of new things added in the new version that's what it takes time. Here you can find more out: https://www.facebook.com/groups/brizy/permalink/720584092038799/

Is there any update on this? I have a page ready, but it has over 130 image assets (different sizes etc). It's not practical to add alt text manually. As far as I am concerned and many would agree, it's not a web page unless it has alt text on every image.
Any news on when it will be available? I followed the link but I cant see when it will be released on Brizy Cloud.

Hi, it is working for me in Brizy Cloud.

Hi Karin,
What do you mean by: "Any news on when it will be available?" In Brizy Cloud you already have an option to add the Alt Title: https://jumpshare.com/v/KlCF8RmZvIiIV4rQGl3T

Is adding alt text to images a feature on the wordpress builder yet? I can't seem to find it.

Hi,
yes, the Alt text added in WordPress media will appear as the alt tag for Brizy image: https://jmp.sh/B0rcyhD

Hi, is this also available in Brizy cloud blog CMS? If not, then will we also be getting this alt tag for image in blog CMS soon?

I have some questions about Alt Text and Alt Attributes.
1. I built several sample sites using brizy cloud. in one example I have built a gallery with 15 images. I do not see a way to add an alt attribute to these images or to add alt text to an existing alt attribute. is this even possible.
2. in a separate case, in various blog articles, the images are all missing alt text. these are instances where the image being used is stored in .../wp-content/uploads/brizy..... how do I add Alt Text to these images.
3. additionally, there are some additional uses of the same image (repeated uses) which need to be deleted. how do I manage the removal of images which have been uploaded to the brizy folder? do I need to use a file manager or cpanel or does brizy recommend a better solution
thanks
Steve

Hi @Zack Lim,
In Brizy cloud the image alt tag can be added here: https://jmp.sh/6zt8NVy

Hi Steve,
1) The "Alt Title" option is available only for the image element. It has not yet been added to the gallery element.
2) Are you referring to WordPress now? All the alt tags there are added in the WordPress Media folder. All the images go there so you should be able to add this tag.
3) Brizy creates several copies of the same image that she uses in different instances: https://support.brizy.io/hc/en-us/articles/360031704031-How-does-Brizy-handle-images- So you might delete something that is needed. In any case, if you want to delete them, you must manually check the uploads folder through cPanel or File Manager.
