    Hi Eliza,

In your WordPress Dashboard under Settings - Permalinks please select 'Custom Structure' for your Permalinks and add this value

    /%category%/%postname%/

Your screen should look like this

Now save your work and check your blog post URLs

    Hello,

Thank you for the video! However, what if I want to duplicate the post carousel from previous category page and apply to the new category change? The problem is that i dont see an option here to change the category from bedroom to living room... why?

Hi again, I've just realized I used gallery  element, sorry for confusion; So this means that i cant filter my posts by category within such element? i just want in each category page to show a gallery of blog posts for a specific category, I dont want scrolling slides as in carousel

    Hi Eliza,

In the above screenshot, you are in fact using the Posts element (and not the Gallery element). You can filter blog posts using categories in the Posts element. Here is the procedure: https://jmp.sh/XqWqlJ22

    Hello again,

Thank you very much for your help, I've adjusted the settings for the new category; however, once i view the live website version, i dont see my newly published blog in the living room category page: in this URL you should be able to see 1 blog with title "From Chaos to Zen: 9 Genius Living Room Shelf Ideas Revealed". Can you please check it from your end? In WP preview, this blog is visible to me

Another question: can you please check in my home page https://alpacayourstuff.com/ whether these circle categories work normally for you? I recently changed slightly the URL slug so i assume thats the reason why its not working properly

    Hi Eliza,

I see this when visiting your category page https://alpacayourstuff.com/living-room-storage/ I do not see the post From Chaos to Zen: 9 Genius Living Room Shelf Ideas Revealed

On your homepage, blog categories are hyperlinking to incorrect URLs and do not work.

    Hello,

That's very strange because in WP preview everything seems to work. Can I give you editor right so you can help me fix both of these issues? I would really appreciate it

    Hi Eliza,

    Thank you for your cooperation.

We have received the credentials you provided. However, it seems that the user account does not have administrative access, which is necessary for us to thoroughly investigate the issue.

Please also make a full backup of your site as a precaution.

I am looking forward to your response.

    Best regards,
    Ariel H.

    Hello Ariel,

I've updated your user access, please, let me know if you still have access issues. As for the backup, i think it automatically back ups for me so all should be good.

    Thank you!

    Hi Eliza,

Upon checking, it appears that the issue is related to SG Cache. Whenever you make changes to your pages and they don't appear in the preview, it is necessary to purge the cache.

To resolve this, I recommend temporarily disabling SG Cache while your site is still under development. This will allow you to see the changes you make immediately, without any caching interference. Once your site is finalized, you can then enable SG Cache again for optimal performance.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

    Best regards,
    Ariel H.

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply! How can I disable SG cache? Should i disable siteground plugin then to make it happen?

Also, can you briefly explain to me what SH cache is for then? How can it optimize my website's performance?

    Hi Eliza,

    Thank you for the update.

Disabling the plugin temporarily will prevent the pages from being cached. The caching tool, SG Cache, is integrated into your hosting service by SiteGround to improve your website's speed and performance. Caching involves storing copies of files in a cache, allowing for quick access to the cached content, which ultimately enhances website performance. The issue earlier occurred because we were accessing the cached versions of your pages, resulting in non-functional links on the home page and the filtered content not displaying on the living-room-storage page.

You can find more details on this link under Site optimization features.

    Best regards,

    Hi Ariel,

Thank you for explaining it to me! As for the SG plugin, there are 3 of them, which one should i turn off for now? Also, i can see that even these SG plugins are activated, however, my website is still loading slowly which is a bit confusing. Will disabling SG cache will make it even worse?

    Hi Eliza,

Please temporarily disable Speed Optimizer plugin. It's important to note that cache plugins only impact the front end of your website, so disabling it should not affect your editing experience.

In case you're experiencing sluggish page editing, it may be worth checking the current PHP memory limit of your website. I recommend reaching out to your hosting provider and requesting an increase in the limit to 512M or higher. This should help improve the speed when editing your pages.

To check this, please refer to the steps in this screenshot - https://i.imgur.com/bX3OJqL.png

    Best regards,
    Ariel H.

    Hi Ariel,

Thank you once again for your help! I've checked and my website has a limit of over 512M. Despite disabling this plugin, it took the whole night to make new changes reflect on my website... Also, I've just found a typo in my URL and blog title and changed it from 9 to 11 genius shelf ideas. However, the URL is not automatically updating on the right, do you know if i need to change it manually or wait for an automatic update?

    Hi Eliza,

Thank you for keeping in touch.

You can try to log in to your hosting account dashboard and flush the cache from there. You can find instructions on how to do this in the following link:
    https://world.siteground.com/kb/clear-site-cache/

Additionally, it is possible to disable caching temporarily in your hosting dashboard while you are working on your website. Once your website is live, you can enable caching again. I recommend contacting your hosting provider for guidance on how to disable caching and where to find the relevant settings.

Regarding changing the blog title, you can refer to the steps provided in this link:
    https://permalinkmanager.pro/docs/plugin-settings/wordpress-slugs-explained/

You can also watch a video tutorial at this link: https://youtu.be/mHEAdfybkao

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards,
    Ariel H.

Hi, how does this world on Brizy Cloud? I want my URL to be:

    .co.uk/news/street-food/nottingham

    News = Website Page

    Street-Food = Category

    Nottingham = Blog Post

  • Sach Nijran

And can we do a dropdown menu like this one cloud?

  • K C George

    Hi Sach,

Implementing a custom URL structure similar to what you have indicated above is not possible with Brizy Cloud. Right now, every blog post is listed directly under the website root.

It is not possible to have a drop-down list of categories. You can, however make a category menu and link to the corresponding category archive pages.
