Projects that were developed before February 2021 use the legacy project format while projects that were added after February 2021 use the CMS project format. A number of features that were added in recent years, such as these, are missing in legacy projects.
- Blogging
- Project Duplication
- Multilingual websites
- Project Cloning
- Collaboration tool
- AI Builder
it is important to migrate legacy projects to CMS format since those projects are no longer supported.
How to identify a legacy project
If your project has only these four options in the thumbnail, yours is a legacy project.
- Publish
- Move
- Leads
- Delete
CMS projects have these or more options in its project thumbnail. The "Duplicate" option is additional in CMS projects. CMS Projects may also have additional options like "Activate PRO", "Deactivate PRO" etc.
The migration procedure
An automated procedure to migrate projects from the legacy format to CMS format does not exist. The legacy project must be recreated in the CMS project format, following a manual procedure.
- Save pages as Layout: Save each page in the legacy project as a layout by selecting the "Save Layout" option at the bottom right corner of the page.
- Create a new project: Newly added projects follow the CMS format. Create a new project and add pages one by one and import the page layouts saved in the previous step to the newly created pages. Repeat this for all pages.
- Migrate global styles: Copy paste the global styles and typography from the legacy to the CMS project
- Menu: Recreate menu in the CMS project
- Global Blocks: Setup global blocks and display conditions in the CMS project and delete the duplicate blocks from pages
- Email notifications: Re-setup the email notifications for Brizy forms in the CMS project
- Add custom domain: When everything is successfully migrated, delete the custom domain added to your legacy project and add to the CMS project.
